I'm trying to remember the name for an old PC game demo I played years ago.
I thought it started with "O", but I could be wrong.
I do remember it was set in a post-apocalyptic environment, possible Chernobyl. It was a turn-based game, and there were monster/mutants and nuclear waste.
I'm fairly certain it was for Win95, as I remember playing at my best friend's house in high school, which puts the game in the late 1990's.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Aren't those FPS?
This was a 3rd person, team strategy game. I remember having to move players around.

Similar graphical style, yes.
That doesn't strike me as "That's it!" but, it's been years ago, and it was only a demo included on another game.

Or did it look like this?

No, that's not it at all.

Hmmm... that games was "Outpost 2", which would fit within the "O" criteria, and it sound like it was a Real Time Strategy Game. I think Fallout or Fallout 2 is most likely (1997/1998)

The latest two installments (Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas) are a mix of FPS/TPS/RPG and are made by a different company than the original Fallout and Fallout 2 which were turn-based RPGs.
There was also a Fallout Tactics which fits the bill a bit better, but that game flopped pretty epicly.

Do you remember the game it was demo'd with?

Im going to guess fallout as well. Im a huge iso rpg/strat gamer and those were great games. In addition I recommend the original xcom and jagged alliance 2. Ja2 is one of the best most enjoyable and complex turn based strat rpg games ever. There are 2 newer version's but they just arent as good as ja2. Its in steam but also easily free online. Im assuming you like the sci fi military type story like I do. You won't be disappointed.

Also jagged alliance 2 came as a demo with a bunch of games and in pcgamer demo packs

Wow, that didn't even come across my radar while I was digging through the internets. Good find! I'll have to check this one out.

It took me looking at nearly every game genre list available on Wiki to find it.

The Game your thinking of is "Gorky 17" (Published here in the states as Odium, There's your O :) ).
Got to thinking about it myself today and came across this post. Hope it helps! Its pretty much a spinoff from the Fallout series (I do remember better graphics), Where you command a NATO team investigating a polish town where everyone is disappearing. I remember the plot being very close to a Resident Evil type story.
